If one can't leave their kids at home with another adult, should they be consuming? Who's going to take care of the kids or respond to an emergency and drive, shall a situation arise while under the influence?

I grew up in PGCo in the 50s & 60s in Capitol Heights for elementary school, Maryland Park Jr. HS on the end of East Capital St. just over the border, and to Central HS in Seat Pleasant. The area didn’t have a good reputation but I thought it was a great place to grow. Integration began in Md Pk Jr HS and continued at Central. There wasn’t a black population in our immediate area and I don’t recall any problems. But it was proceeding slowly in our area so maybe that had something to do with it. I played Boys Club sports all over the County , baseball, basketball & football. Looking back I realized it was a tumultuous time 60s but I remember that everybody accepted everyone else. That’s not to say that all was peace and harmony but I can’t recall hostilities. I coached Boys Club baseball on my summers home while also working at Giant in District Heights( didn’t everyone work at Giant sometime) between college. My teams were integrated and there was never any negatives amongst the kids. It was some of the best times I can remember. The County was 53% wooded back then, I was told. That just amazed me being that close to the District. My home was in a development on Brooks Road just below the water tower, it’s no longer there. Over the hill was a park and up the road a short way was a Black Community. My mom told me that they lived there long before our development was built. We all played and got along with each other, it was a magical time to grow up in. It will always hold a special place in my life. It was a great place to grow up.

Great speech and now it's time to buckle down, develop new ideas to forge ahead with new businesses in order to add to resources so that we can reduce the taxes. In economic terms, pet owners are a growth market. But the County is actively discouraging pet ownership (at least, outside of County employee households). To grow our tax base, you would want to attract and retain more pet owners and the businesses that serve them. In 2009, taxpayers wrote the check for a gorgeous new BUILDING with promises that there would be many great changes. Nothing of any significance has changed. Please bring the world to the Prince George's County animal shelter!
